A Webform Server installation consists of several components.
The main component of Webform Server is Translator. Translator does the work of converting XFDL forms into HTML, and should be accessible only from the application server. Translator should not be directly accessible from client browsers outside your firewall.
Other components of the system include the File Cache and the Webform Server database. During installation, you are prompted for location and connection details of these components. Be sure to read the Installation overview topic and the Before installing topic before running the installer.
One other component is the Webform Server framework, which you integrate with your servlet or portlet application during development. The framework conducts the communications among the client browser, your applications, and Translator.
